Our Specialty Mental Health Services

Pharmacogenomics
Pharmacogenomic testing offers a groundbreaking approach to mental health treatment by using an individual’s genetic profile to guide medication selection and dosing. Because people metabolize drugs differently, traditional trial-and-error prescribing can lead to frustration, side effects, and delayed relief. Pharmacogenomic testing analyzes variations in genes that affect how the body processes antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and anti-anxiety medications. This information helps clinicians identify which medications are likely to be most effective and which may cause adverse reactions or poor results. By personalizing treatment from the start, pharmacogenomic testing can reduce side effects, shorten the time to symptom improvement, and increase overall treatment success. It also enhances patient confidence and adherence by providing a scientific rationale for medication choices. At Ambrosia Behavioral Health, where precision and trust are critical, pharmacogenomic testing represents a major step toward safer, faster, and more effective outcomes for each of our patients. Brain Mapping
Brain mapping provides an advanced, science-based approach to understanding and improving mental health by revealing how specific regions of the brain function and communicate. Using technologies such as quantitative EEG (qEEG) and functional MRI, clinicians can identify irregular patterns of brain activity associated with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and other conditions. This allows for more precise diagnoses and personalized treatment strategies tailored to each individual’s unique neural profile. Brain mapping also helps measure the effects of therapy, medication, or neurostimulation over time, offering tangible evidence of progress. By visualizing how emotional regulation, decision-making, and reward systems operate in the brain, it bridges the gap between biological and psychological understanding. Ultimately, brain mapping empowers both patients and clinicians with actionable insights, leading to more effective interventions, improved outcomes, and a deeper comprehension of the mind–brain connection in mental health care.

Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback, a cutting-edge therapeutic approach, is increasingly gaining recognition for its efficacy in treating various mental health conditions. At Ambrosia Behavioral Health, neurofeedback is employed as an innovative method to enhance cognitive functioning and promote emotional well-being. This technique provides real-time feedback of brain activity, it empowers individuals to consciously alter their neural patterns.
The implementation of neurofeedback at Ambrosia involves the use of sophisticated neuroimaging technology to monitor brainwaves. Patients engage in cognitive tasks while their brain activity is displayed, enabling them to recognize and understand their mental states. This process fosters self-regulation, as individuals learn to reinforce desirable brain states associated with improved focus, reduced anxiety, and enhanced mood. Learn more…

How do you determine which program level (inpatient vs PHP vs IOP) is right for someone?
Admission begins with a comprehensive clinical assessment to evaluate the severity of symptoms, safety concerns, daily-functioning level, past treatment history, co-occurring disorders (including substance use), and support systems.
From that evaluation we recommend the most appropriate level of care — e.g., inpatient for those needing intensive 24-hour supervision, PHP for full-day structure without residential stay, IOP/Outpatient for those who can manage more flexibility but still need structured therapy. At Ambrosia Behavioral Health we provide this continuum and can step down or transition as needed. Ambrosia Behavioral Health
