About this program

Concierge at-home detox

Ambrosia's concierge at-home detox program addresses substance dependence in a personalized, supportive environment: your own home. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, licensed therapists, and addiction specialists collaborates on an individualized treatment plan, with continuous monitoring and support throughout withdrawal.

The people who use this program are often executives, business owners, parents, celebrities, athletes, or young adults who require additional discretion and privacy — but it is available to anyone who qualifies. Detoxing at home alleviates concerns about stigma or publicity, and the program pairs medical care with education on coping mechanisms and life skills for sustaining recovery beyond detox.

Admission is available to people within a 50-mile radius of West Palm Beach — whether you live in the area or travel to it. After an initial medical evaluation at our office, our team comes to you daily to provide medical support, monitor vital signs, and dispense any necessary medications.

Substances we provide at-home detox for

  • Alcohol

Withdrawal can begin within six to twelve hours of the last drink, with symptoms ranging from tremors, sweating, nausea, and anxiety to seizures, hallucinations, and delirium tremens.

  • Opioids

Symptoms can begin within hours to a few days of the last dose: insomnia, restlessness, anxiety, muscle aches, intense cravings, and gastrointestinal distress that varies considerably from person to person.

  • Benzodiazepines

Prolonged use of these prescribed medications can lead to physical dependence. Withdrawal can include heightened anxiety, insomnia, tremors, and autonomic instability, and requires a careful, managed approach.

How we manage withdrawal

While withdrawal symptoms can sound concerning, the program works to alleviate them with effective withdrawal-management medications and daily medical care. Your comfort and safety are the priority throughout the process.

Therapy is provided via telehealth alongside the medical visits, and our digital platform gives clients easy access to therapeutic content and support groups from home — fostering community and accountability during a vulnerable stretch.

How admission works

  1. Call admissions

Speak with an admissions specialist so we can assess your case and determine eligibility for at-home detox.

  2. Initial evaluation

If approved, you come to our office for the initial medical evaluation that shapes your detox plan.

  3. Daily home visits

  4. Telehealth therapy

Therapy runs alongside the medical care via telehealth, connecting detox to the treatment that follows.

Program leadership

The program is led by Dr. Danesh Alam, a psychiatrist with academic affiliations with Northwestern University and the University of Illinois Chicago, where he completed his residency training. He has been a principal investigator for over forty studies, founded Ambrosia Behavioral Health and the Neuroscience Research Institute, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

The cost of treatment and payment options

Ambrosia accepts most commercial insurances and has competitive self-pay rates. We work with each individual to establish affordable payment options, because detox should be accessible when people need it most.
