Medical & Psych Assessments 3x Week
You consult with a doctor to discuss physical symptoms caused by withdrawal from drugs or alcohol and any other ailments. The medical doctor will craft a personalized plan to maximize health and reduce the chance of ongoing health-related issues.
You also meet with a psychologist to evaluate the effect of the medications. Medications and doses are adjusted until perfected, so you leave with balance and stability.
24/7 Registered Nurse As-Needed
In case of an emergency, a nurse is at the Port St. Lucie rehab at all times to deal with issues promptly. Medical assessments are also done by a Registered Nurse to monitor the effectiveness of medication and address any other health problems.
Anti-Craving Medications As-Prescribed
Anti-craving medications can be life-changing in early recovery. By minimizing the chances of a potential relapse, clients are free to focus on core issues and begin the process of inner healing.
Mental Health Medications As-Prescribed
Medications for underlying mental health issues – like anxiety and depression – help balance the brain. The more stable you feel, the better your chances of staying sober.
Small Group Therapy 6x Week
Therapists lead sessions with 4-10 people to discuss everyone’s personal stories and struggles. The intimate setting allows everyone to open up and give advice to one another. This peer feedback carries more weight than hearing it from just the therapist. Small groups also help build relationships with peers that are instrumental in maintaining sobriety after treatment. Everyone learns to keep each other and themselves accountable.
Education Therapy 1x Day
You learn how addiction impacts the mind and how it supersedes the dependence on a substance. Various topics are discussed that help you in all aspects of recovery; such as managing emotions, changing behaviors and balancing life with recovery.
Trauma Therapies (EMDR & TMS) 1x Week
For individuals who have experienced trauma, specialized Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) can be life-changing. TMS stimulates the brain with non-invasive magnetic waves. EMDR uses lights to stimulate the relaxed state of REM sleep while clients process painful memories.
One-On-One Therapy 1x Week
Highly individualized, one-on-one sessions with a therapist allow you to discuss feelings in a comfortable and personal setting, separate from other distractions. Aftercare plans are also constructed with the therapist to increase the chances of a full and lasting recovery.
Music Therapy 1x Week
Self-expression through music therapy gives you a welcome break from the stressors of early recovery. Open-ended activities, such as listening and lyric analysis, promote fellowship and unity among clients so that they are more receptive to further spiritual treatment.
Art Therapy 1x Week
Art therapy allows you to feel a sense of achievement and freedom through creativity. Art is an alternative outlet expressing feelings you are unable to express with words.
Brain Mapping 2 x Month
Using neuro-technology, specific parts of your brain are measured to see where you brainwaves become “stuck.” This allows us to accurately diagnosis issues like depression or anxiety quickly and with precision. It also allows us to measurable track your progress.
Neurofeedback Therapy 1 x Week
It sounds fancy (and it is). This treatment shows you the ebb and flow of your brainwaves and challenges you to change the activity levels. Some frequencies you aim to strengthen, while others you want to eliminate. It’s a way to re-wire your brain at the core.
Massage 1x Week
Stress and anxiety are extremely detrimental to recovery. Massage therapy is a great tool for stress relief and teaches you to relax and live in the moment; one of the most important skills to learn in overcoming addiction.
Chiropractic Adjustment 2x Week
Chiropractic care helps to align the patient’s spine correctly and has been known to balance the bodies levels of serotonin and dopamine. Both of these neurotransmitters are severely affected by substance abuse. The chiropractor will target the needs of the individual and administer care, restoring the body to its natural equilibrium.
Gym Visits 1-2x Week
Strengthening the body through physical exercise increases confidence and releases the tension built up from substance abuse. It also can alleviate withdrawal symptoms, such as restless legs and insomnia.
CrossFit Classes 1x Week
CrossFit provides a healthy distraction from the hard work of therapy. It’s a time to appreciate your strength, find encouragement and physically release your emotion. Intense exercise naturally triggers positive chemicals like serotonin without needing drugs or alcohol. Because the CrossFit community is accepting and supportive, it’s an ideal activity to incorporate into your life after rehab.
12-Step Meetings 7x Week
12-Step meetings are vitally important in the early stages of recovery. Going to a meeting every day helps you get used to a routine. And, it helps you feel more comfortable sharing and being a part of the fellowship. By the time you leave treatment, these behaviors are natural.
Fun Outings 4x Week
Having fun in recovery is essential to long-term sobriety. Activities such as bowling, the beach or visiting a park allow you to experience fun without the use of mind-altering substances. Because it’s a drug rehab for young adults only, you’ll make friends that can stop you from isolating after you leave.
Common Questions and Concerns
Do I really need treatment?
If you’re asking the question, the answer is almost always yes. Most people who struggle with addiction spend years trying to convince themselves (and others) that they don’t need help. Denial is a symptom of the disease.
Whether it’s at our Port St. Lucie rehab or not, don’t let excuses get in the way of turning your life around.
I've never been to treatment.
Going to rehab for the first time can feel scary, but it’ll be so much better than you’re thinking. Treatment is not a prison or a waste of time. It’s a place for real healing.
You can expect a lot of therapy, mixed with relaxation, self-reflection and even some fun. Literally, everyone you meet understands what you’re going through.
The bottom line is, don’t worry! You’re in good hands here, surrounded by comfort and support.
Because we’re one of the best centers in the country, people come from all over to finally find permanent sobriety.
Florida is known for sunshine and healing. Port St. Lucie specifically is a serene town that sits on the Atlantic coast of South Florida, about two hours north of Miami.
When you remove yourself from distractions and old habits, you’re able to focus on the issues behind the drugs and alcohol. Whether you can’t stop relapsing or you’re looking for a fresh start, take a vacation from your addiction. Come out refreshed and ready to get your family, health and future back on track.
I don't know enough about it.

The staff here saved my life, and the therapists are nothing short of amazing. They truly cared and wanted to see me succeed in my recovery. I'll be forever grateful for everything they've done to help me become the person I'm supposed to be. In my addiction, I never actually grew up. I grew more in a month at Ambrosia than I have in a long time.
I was hesitant to send my daughter away again. She had been to several other rehabs, but she always went back to her old ways after a few weeks. But, something about Ambrosia stuck with her. The staff was wonderful, and constantly communicated with me from the start, and helped me to understand the disease. That means a lot for a scared Mom like me.

I would suggest Ambrosia to any parent who doesn’t know what to do. The staff was very kind and helpful. Family weekend was an exhausting experience for my wife, my daughter and I, but so worth it. Thank you for helping my daughter start her journey to recovery.

Ambrosia was exactly where I needed to be. Great staff, great facility, and I can’t thank my therapist enough for her help, especially in the beginning. I came here to get away from the temptations of my hometown and lay low for a while, but I walked away with so much more than that.
I have nothing but good things to say about Ambrosia Treatment Center. Wellness answered all our questions and really went out of their way to help us get through the anxiety. The staff and counselors went above and beyond expectations. I would highly recommend Ambrosia to anyone who needs help.

After struggling for years, my son finally got some help. He didn’t want to go to treatment, so we had no choice but to kick him out of the house. Finally, he agreed to go. Ambrosia got him into a sober living program after treatment, and I couldn’t be prouder of the strides he is making in his life. I have no idea where our family would be without this place.

When anyone I know reaches out for help, I tell them to call Ambrosia. I’ve been out of treatment for months, and I still talk to my therapist when I need support. Thank God for people that share the gift of sobriety. I don’t know where I would be without them.
Addiction cannot be cured overnight; it's a process that requires patience. Ambrosia’s Wellness team taught me so much about how to keep realistic expectations for my daughter’s recovery. Sometimes I think I got as much out of her treatment as she did. There is always hope!

I've had the pleasure of working with dozens of youth who are very early on in their recovery. I am always overwhelmed by the response I get from Ambrosia alumni. It is a true testament to what you do so well, preparing your clients for life after treatment, and instilling in them the passion to give back what has been so graciously given to them. Bravo!
Ambrosia not only helped my son get his life back, it gave him the opportunity to be treated like a respected young man. He grew up while he was in there. I witnessed an amazing change in him. The counselors give incredible support and continue to do so a year later. I have nothing but great things to say about this place.

Overall, I had a positive experience during my stay at Ambrosia. I got out of it what I put into it.
Ambrosia truly saved my life. My counselor was a huge part of my support while here at Ambrosia. I don't know what I would have done without her. She is my biggest advocate in Florida.
My experience with Ambrosia has been wonderful. They are very helpful in teaching clients about the disease, being there for mental and emotional support and spreading hope back into your heart. They take their job very professionally while maintaining personal care for each client. Its amazing to know that there is a place addicts can go to get the top level of care needed for a successful recovery.
It was a great learning experience at Ambrosia. I feel confident the help and knowledge I received here will help me maintain sobriety.
My experience at Ambrosia was a gift. It allowed me to look at my disease honestly, while receiving excellent care and guidance. I would recommend it to any of my loved ones.
I enjoyed my stay here. I appreciate all the staff here.
I had an amazing counselor that has helped me with things I didn't even knew existed. He reaches deep into my head and heart and finds things that affect the way I think and act. All the techs were helpful and I built a bond with the Ambrosia staff. I appreciate them all very much.
The facilities are top notch. The counselors are over qualified and are friendly and helpful.
Great experience to strengthen my spiritual consciousness and give me the tools to properly attack recovery with enthusiasm.
Great facility, great people. I enjoyed my time here.
They treat you with respect and care. The quality of life doesn't get better than what is offered. It's like our own little world that's protected inside a safety bubble. I loved it, I didn't want to leave.
Amazing, beautiful, clean facility. My sister went to Ambrosia and has been sober now for over 3 years. We go back for alumni get together's every few months and the staff is always so friendly & they honestly feel like family. I have referred many friends and family to Ambrosia and have gotten nothing but positive, uplifting feedback. To be able to have a loved one be released from the grips of addiction and see them as the person you've always known they could be is just the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you, Ambrosia, for all that you do.
