Residential Treatment

who we help

Everyone comes in with different history and circumstances, but with the same goal of leaving here and staying sober. You're understood, never judged and fully heard.

You're surrounded by others that are taking treatment seriously and can relate to the stress of responsibilities like marriage and work. You're treated like an adult and get more freedom because you have real things to take care of at home.

Young Adults

You're surrounded by peers that become life-long friends and even help you have some (sober) fun while you're here. You work on building a real future for yourself with a new, healthy lifestyle and coping skills for triggers like anxiety, boredom and self-doubt.

Chronic Relapsers

You have all the basic tools already, so the focus is on next-level techniques like mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and relapse prevention training, as well as taking a deeper look at medications and staying in treatment longer.

Trauma Survivors

You're working with certified trauma specialists using proven therapies like EMDR and TMS to finally accept your traumatic experiences as part of the past and learn to live in the present. You're able to be completely honest with yourself and your feelings without being judged or re-traumatized.

what we treat

If you're struggling with alcohol or drugs — even if you're dealing with other mental health issues too — you can find a new life here. You can stop drinking, stop using, be happy and feel in control.

Feeling that your addiction isn’t “bad enough” or rehab is too dramatic is probably the denial and fear of your addiction talking.

Staying sober is 5 times more likely when you go away to rehab. That’s a fact. Rehab is a way to escape your unhealthy thoughts and lifestyle to get down to what’s at the root of the issue.

Your kids, spouse, family and pets are all better off with you sober. (And, you know it).

As for work, your job is likely protected by law. We take care of all your paperwork and your condition can remain discrete. In ten years, we’ve never seen anyone lose their job for coming here. Though we have seen too many wait until after they’ve lost their job to seek help.

While you may worry about missing out when you’re in rehab, the truth is you’re missing out now when your thoughts are preoccupied with your next fix or you’re too sick or high to show up.

Rehab here is not a hospital or a prison. It’s a place for you to de-stress and focus on yourself. While the therapy every day is intense, you have time in between for massage, exercise and even some fun.

You’re surrounded by people who all understand what you’re feeling and often stay in touch long after the 35 days (on average) that you’re here.

While other places may talk about individualized treatment, the concept is truly ingrained in everything we do. The quality of the care you receive here is overseen by researchers at both Rutgers and Nova Southeastern universities and proven by a partnership with the NFL and thousands of success stories. Even those that came here reluctantly are now living happily with a new-found purpose and future.

Treatment Timeline

The process starts today with a simple phone call and ends with a new lifestyle and permanent sobriety.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted warmly by my first name by every staff member there. I walked in a broken woman, wanting to take my own life. My therapist allowed me to figure out a lot of things about myself, to get down to cause. I was able to walk out feeling whole. Everyone here truly cares about you and are passionate about their job.

I didn’t want to leave Ambrosia. They treat you so well here and take you in as your own. The culture and the people make your stay seem like you’re not just in a rehab program. They actually care and that's so hard to come by. I’m very thankful for Ambrosia and for every staff member. I know if I need anything, I can knock on any of their doors and they are always willing to help out.

Ambrosia is a great facility to learn about addiction. The staff is very knowledgeable. The sleeping quarters were very comfortable and the food was great. I have no complaints, because my experience was very pleasant here. I especially enjoyed my case load group with my counselor. He's a great person who made me feel comfortable enough to share with my peers. Overall, my experience with all of the staff and peers was great! Much better than first attempt at American addiction centers.

Ambrosia Treatment Center is a very helpful place for addicts who seek recovery. My experience here was helpful. I could have learned a lot more if I would have taken more suggestions and followed the rules better. Overall, I honestly believe Ambrosia is a good place for people who are willing.

When I first got here, I was 2000 miles from home, no job, no house. But, things changed rapidly when I was working with my therapist who helped me explore the real Matthew and pushed me to understand the true nature of my disease of addiction. I was broken, spiritually dead and didn't know who I was. Five weeks later, I have respect, strength, courage, honor, honesty and love.
