"Will getting an interventionist help?"
Asked by HopetrackerA3 Seen by 199
My husband and I have held interventions for our son multiple times, but each time our son doesn’t take it seriously. He winds up mocking us and laughing at our inexperience and lack of knowledge. I think it's time we hire an actual interventionist since we can’t get through to him, but my husband is skeptical. He thinks they’re just wannabe doctors and we'll be wasting our money. A professional interventionist can make all the difference when dealing with a resistant family member. They are trained to coach the entire family in effectively dealing with the situation and maintaining healthy communication. Families are often coming from a place of intense emotion and trauma caused by the addiction. A professional third party is essential to help everyone remain focused on solutions and positive action.
