"Should I tell my daughter about my struggle with drugs as a teen?"
Asked by HopetrackerA3 Seen by 199
I experimented with drugs when I was younger, and now I'm worried that my daughter is too. I want to talk to her about what I went through because I feel it will discourage her from going down the same path. Could this backfire? Click here to report this post as inappropriate. flag

Reach out to your spouse or other family members that understand your family dynamic. Together, you can figure out what the best approach is. Will it benefit her to hear your personal story, or would it be better to educate her on the dangers of addiction as a whole? Take a look at your family tree and if there is history of substance abuse, you can educate her on the consequences of addiction.
