"Should I send my daughter out of state for rehab?"
Asked by HopetrackerA3 Seen by 218
My daughter has gone to meetings and attended therapy sessions for her addiction, but she continues to relapse. I’ve read that it could be beneficial to send your child out of state so that they are removed from the environment where they started using. Is this true? The longest time my daughter had sober was when she went out of state for treatment so i think there is something to be said about being outside of their comfort zone .. once she slipped up she found her way back home pretty fast!

People, places and things can become triggers for relapse as she tries to stick to her recovery. If she has failed time and time again, going out of state for treatment will not guarantee recovery, but it can improve her chances of a positive outcome.
