If I don't ask my son to leave my home am I enabling him?
I just don't know anymore.
Olivia K If he is actively using in the home, allowing him a comfortable place to continue in his addiction is considered enabling. Many parents struggle with the idea of asking their son/daughter to leave the house, but if you offer solutions such as treatment and sober living it gives him a choice towards recovery. Be prepared for him to not accept the help and count on you feeling guilty to continue to let him stay. This is where getting support for yourself is important so you can have guidance and support in setting boundaries that encourage healing.
