"How do I know if my son relapsed?"
Asked by HopetrackerA3 Seen by 216
I’ve heard that the road to recovery is a long one and that relapse can happen. Since my son got out of rehab, I’ve been trying not to look for signs of relapse and just let my son live his life, but he’s lied to me so many times in the past that it’s honestly hard to trust him. It’s been a few months, and he swears that he is fine, but lately I’ve been noticing that he’s started to hang out with the “old crew” again and he’s stopped going to meetings. Will drug testing him put a wedge in between our relationship? Click here to report this post as inappropriate. flag

Usually, you can trust your gut if you strongly feel your loved one relapsed, but there are some signs you can look for. These include not going to meetings, not working with a sponsor, isolating, sleeping a lot, becoming angry, not looking you in the eye, mismanaging money, and being defensive. He might be angry if you drug test him, but it's a good way of keeping him honest about his actions.
