"How can I help if my wife won't even let me have a conversation?"
Asked by HopetrackerA3 Seen by 180
My wife has completely closed me off. I feel like I’m losing her, and I’ve run out of options. I’ve suggested that we go to a therapist, but she refuses to go. All she does is stay in bed. The other day, a friend of mine recommended doing an intervention with some of our family and close friends. I'm worried that it might overwhelm her, but I’ll try anything at this point. Will it help? Click here to report this post as inappropriate. flag

I think an intervention is a good idea... I remember hearing the worst thing we can do is 'walk on egg shells' around our loved ones addiction because that keeps them sick. Maybe being straight forward and calling her out in a loving way is exactly what she needs.

Interventions don’t have to be like what you see on TV or in the movies. If you think they are going to get overwhelmed, maybe try contacting a professional interventionist who can assist you through this process.
