Staying Safe in Rehab This Flu Season

Like any year, this year’s flu season brings with it an opportunity to better protect clients in our addiction treatment clinics. That’s why Ambrosia Treatment Center is doubling down on efforts to keep our clients safe throughout their stay at our facilities. People come to Ambrosia’s drug rehab centers to get healthy, and we’re continuously working to uphold a safe, clean environment at all Ambrosia locations.

Because viruses like the flu spread through close contact with other individuals, any medical facility that houses patients needs to be prepared. While our centers are spacious and accommodating, there are times throughout the day when clients are near one other, whether it is a group lecture or a counseling session with a therapist. We are urging both staff and clients to stay up to date with their flu vaccinations and use smart preventative action when in large groups with others. Top tips to staying clear of the flu include:

  • Wash hands frequently
  • Avoid touching mouth, eyes and face
  • Sneeze into your sleeve
  • Cover your mouth when coughing
  • Turn your head away from others when sneezing or coughing

Ambrosia employs best practices and supplies hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray and facial tissues at our centers and client residences. Medical staff will continue to monitor the health of all patients through their stay and promptly address any cold or flu symptoms as necessary.

Ambrosia is also continuing to closely monitor local, state and nationwide reports about influenza and other viral threats. Even though our facilities house dozens of individuals, we strongly maintain that individuals who are struggling with drugs and alcohol are safer in treatment than outside of treatment. However, we understand family members may still have concerns about their love ones in treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly at the phone number below.

Treatment is for: Myself Loved one

Not ready to call?

I don’t know if I need treatment.

You’re here because you know the problem is out of control. You’ve spent months if not years trying to convince yourself (and those around you) that your drug or alcohol use isn’t “that bad.”

Don’t let denial drag out the suffering. Addiction is serious. You can (and should) get help before it completely takes over your life.

I don’t know what treatment would be best.

Have you tried getting help before? If so, it’s time to follow the science. The most effective process involves detox, rehab and outpatient treatments.

Don’t be overwhelmed! All you have to do now is call to talk about where you’re at. You’ll take it one step at a time from there. Before you know it, you’ll be sober. You can do this!

I can’t convince my loved one to go.

Even if you’re feeling powerless, there’s always hope! Donny, our dedicated ARISE interventionist, can talk to you today about your options. Following his advice, three of every four people come directly to treatment.

I'm not sure if you can help.
